26th INTERNATIONAL ASPENDOS OPERA AND BALLET FESTIVAL TO KICK OFF ON 1 SEPTEMBER

International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival will meet with the art enthusiasts for the 26th time in Antalya.

The festival, organized by Culture and Tourism Ministry’s, will open on 1 September with “Carmen”, a 4-act opera created by the French composer Georges Bizet and performed by Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, at Aspendos Amphitheatre.   

Besides the Aspendos Amphitheatre, Antalya EXPO will be a scene to many events, some of which are “Swan Lake” by Wien State Opera and Ballet Union, “Aida” by Antalya State Opera and Ballet and “Troia” by Ankara State Opera and Ballet.    

The Festival Program

The Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival, to be inaugurated by Bizet’s “Carmen” on 1 September, will host Wien State Opera and Ballet staging Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” on 8 September.

The festival is also set to welcome on 4-5 September “Pavel Virsky”, Ukraine’s honourable academic dancers' community, and Verdi’s “Aida” to be performed by the State Opera and Ballet of Antalya.  

The Turkish epic opera “Troia” will be staged on 16September, and the festival will finish on 18 September with Murat Karahan’s solo performance.
