WORLD'S BEST CHEFS AND GASTRONOMY WRITERS MET IN TÜRKİYE

Special tastes coming out of the fertile earth of Türkiye were introduced to world-wide famous chefs.

This year’s route of gastronomic and touristic travel organization ‘Gastroway’, organized under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, included the provinces of Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Mardin and Diyarbakır.

‘Gastroway’ event - a gastronomic and tourist travel organization promoting Türkiye's gastronomic richness, historical and cultural values to the worldwide popular foreign chef, author and journalists - arrived in the fertile land of Mesopotamia after the Aegean coasts of Türkiye.

Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish provinces of Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Mardin and Diyarbakır - all on the route of this year's event - had the chance to offer the world's most distinguished chefs and gastronomy writers their unique flavours and rich historical and cultural values.

The team, composed of 21 people, including chefs in The Best 50 Restaurants of the World List, Michelin star chefs and foreign gastronomy writers and journalists, visited on June 16-22 the distinctive parts of the region, such as Zeugma, Göbeklitepe, Midyat and Dara.

The team coming to the region to taste street food and local tastes as part of ”2019 Göbeklitepe Year” activities included Chef Yoshizumi Nagaya, who received 1 Michelin star and 17 points from Gault Millau guide in 2010, Chef Andrea Aprea, who received 2 Michelin stars in 2018 and 2019, Chef Pere Planaguma, who participated in gastronomy activities in various locations around the world as chef and gastronomic consultant on behalf of Gastrocultura Mediterránea Academy, Chef Joana Artieda, who was granted as "Best Pastry Chef" in Spain in 2016 and is the owner of 11 national awards at the age of 29, Andras Jokuti, whose articles were published in various media, such as Time Out Budapest, Vilagevo, Radiocafé, Vincent Vorajit Vichit Vadakan who writes for food, travel and cultural publications in different countries around the world, such as Guides Géo in Thailand and Good Food in Australia in English, French and Italian languages and Gökmen Sözen, the founder of FoodinLife magazine and Editor-in-Chief of Gastronomy Publishing as well as the organiser of Gastromasa that hosts world-wide famous chefs.
